Rate Increases by Birth Year

Children born before ’78 had a consistently low rate of autism.

The MMR II transitioned into use in the early ‘80’s.

Those born '80 - '84 demonstrate slight increased rate of autism
(coinciding with the transition period.)

Those born ’85 – ’90 demonstrate a clearly higher rate of autism. Those born ’88 – ’93 demonstrate an even higher rate of autism. The author minimizes any changes before ’92 but changes did occur.

In the article itself, Table 2 and Figure 2 both demonstrate a gradual increase in the rate of autism in the ‘80’s.
